Does any one her live in Spain?

I've spent the last month in Minorca, writing, which is what I do, To make a living I simply need my laptop and an internet connection.
The weather aside, though that's a plus, the cost of living is so much cheaper. Probably as much as 40%. And out of season, the flights back to London are cheaper than what I would pay on the train.
I'm curious to know of anyone who has done this and how they have found it.

Wifes sister and family lived in Andratx Mallorca for 30 years. Lived there for a couple of years late 90s, good memories but difficult to earn a living opened a Cafe. Came back for the kids education although private English school was suffering which turned out for the best. Never found it much cheaper than the UK, but the island is teaming with Germans who push up prices. Minorca is more English.
Best time to go is when retired with pension and don't need to work. Many writers, painters, sculptors, musicians and fashion designers live in Spain. It is an ideal job there. It still gets boring after a while (it's buzzing this time of year, too busy in August and empties out in the winter) I could only live anywhere in Spain provided I had a place to come back to regularly to break the boredom. Enjoy, as my Mallorquin mate used to say everyday is a holiday.

If you are writing formally you shouldn't begin with 'and' or 'but'.
But this is a very informal medium, isn't it? It should be fine to type as we would speak. When we SPEAK we begin sentences with and and but.

Always go back to Spain. There is costahammer on here I think and someone else used to post had their own estate agents there.

I'll be moving the family across in October, in the same situation - just need internet for my work. How's the connection generally out there? I use Skype a lot and am reliant on uninterrupted, reliable internet connections.

It's not great where I am Deano, but I'm using wifi in a apartment complex. I'm sure if you're connected directly it should be fine.
AND both Stomper and Nursey are correct with their opinions of the writer and how he writes.

I tend to "live" wherever I find myself working and I must say that life in general was much cheaper in Southern Europe than it was in the North - so much so, that I quite often worried myself that I'd made an extra, forgotten, cash withdrawal from an ATM, when I did a weekly clear out of all the bills & crap my wallet accumulated.
Accommodation was about 40% cheaper, too, but I am comparing, say, Lisbon with Den Haag, which may not be quite the same as what most people are looking at.
Out of season - with no Grockels - is brilliant.

Where in menorca are you, we have a place there as does Martin Peters who lives around the corner to us.
and the Internet connection is only really workable in the off season. peak season for video streaming is nonexistent as every fucker is Facebooking.
